Setting up the Yodeck app on your Android device (like an Android TV or tablet) is now easier than ever. Just follow this step-by-step guide. You don’t need to be a tech expert—we’ve broken it down into simple terms!
What You’ll Need
Your Android phone
💡 v10 or above
Your Android “target” device/player (like an Android TV, or Android tablet, or any other Android device/player)
💡 v7 or above
Both devices are connected to the same Wi-Fi network
Please follow this guide if your Android device is Android 7 or earlier.
Step-by-Step Setup Instructions
1. Install the Android Setup Helper App
On your phone, download the Yodeck Android Setup Helper App from this link:
Once your devices are connected, open the Setup Helper app on your phone and tap the “Setup” button. This will install the Yodeck app onto your target device.
💡 If you’re a Yodeck white-label (WL) partner, uncheck the “Branded” option before you click Setup.
5. Wait for the Installation to Finish
Once installed, your target device will automatically launch the Yodeck app, and you’ll see the welcome/setup screen.
Two Ways to Finish the Setup
At this point, you can choose how to finish the setup:
Option A: Finish Setup on the TV/Android Device (Manual)
Option B: Finish Setup from Your Phone (Recommended)
We recommend “Option B” for production-grade installations!
Option A: Finish Setup on the TV/Android Device (Manual)
⚠️ This option is for testing only. The app will have limited features and won’t receive updates automatically.
Tap “Skip for now” on your TV or tablet.
Follow the on-screen instructions.
Option B: Finish Setup from Your Phone (Recommended)
⚠️ This option gives the Yodeck app full control of the device/player. You won’t be able to uninstall it without doing a full factory reset later.
Tap “Setup Permissions” in the Setup Helper app you downloaded earlier
If you choose Option B, the app will finish setup automatically.
Troubleshooting Tips
If you run into issues with “Setup Permissions”:
Check if the device already has another app marked as a “device owner.”
Make sure there’s no Google account signed into the device. If there is, sign out before trying again.
You’re All Set!
Once everything is done, your Android device will be ready to use with the Yodeck app!
